Hi there, my name is Sarah Wendorf

I love to grow my own fruit, vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed. Gardening has always been in my family as I helped my mom tend to her many flower and veggie gardens growing up. I've been gardening with my husband for over a decade and now we are sharing this passion with our kids.

I have recently become a Master Gardener in Training with the Master Gardeners of Ontario and I volunteer with the Sudbury Horticultural Society to help provide gardening advice to the community. I have a Masters Degree in Science Communication, a Bachelor of Education Degree, and am a member of the Ontario College of Teachers. I am also completing the Horticulture Certificate from University of Guelph, and have taken several Horticulture courses through Mohawk College.

Gardening is something our whole family enjoys. We have several raised beds and flower gardens across our small < 1/4 acre urban property. Each year we learn more through experimenting with small-space urban garden designs and planting. I named Laurett Garden in honour of my daughters Lauren and Scarlett who now also love to dig in the dirt and experiment with us.

I love chatting with gardeners in our area and in the wider gardening world. I am especially passionate about first-time gardeners and helping them get off to a successful and exciting start in their own home gardens.

Wishing you enjoyment, luck, and success in your garden!
